Job summary

Baptist Health Care in northwest Florida and south Alabama seeks an experienced RN Educator for Cardiac Interventional Services to support the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, EP Lab, and Interventional Radiology with education and professional development.

You will lead orientation, competency, and evidence-based practice initiatives, partnering with leadership to improve patient care quality and regulatory compliance across specialties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• 4 years of clinical nursing experience in Cath, EP, or IR labs is required.
• RN license in Florida or eligible compact state at hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required at hire.
• ACLS Provider required at hire.
• RCIS/RCES within 18 months required or RCIS/RCES within 18 months required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff competency, development, and policy compliance.
• Promote certification and continuing education in interventional cardiology, EP, and radiology.
• Maintain unit-based staff in-service, education, and competency records.
• Coach staff on career development and leadership growth.
• Organize in-services related to procedural sedation and emergency management.
• Collaborate with leadership and quality teams on performance improvement.
• Support standardization of clinical protocols and documentation workflows.
• Ensure staff training on infection prevention, radiation safety, and time-out policies.
• Identify causes for success or failure of learning experiences.
• Analyze data for patient care planning and improvement opportunities.
• Pursue professional growth and maintain current licensure/certifications.
• Serve as a role model for staff across hospital areas.

About the Role

The RN Educator - Cardiac Interventional Services for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and Interventional Radiology provides clinical education and professional development support to nursing and allied health staff within these specialty areas. The role supports orientation, ongoing competency, evidence-based practice implementation, quality improvement, and compliance with regulatory standards to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Ensures staff competency, staff development, compliance with policy and procedures, safety goals, and compliance with DNV standards.
• Promotes certification and continuing education in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and radiologic nursing.
• Maintains unit-based staff in-service, education, and competency records.
• Coaches staff on career development, clinical ladder advancement, and leadership growth.
• Organizes in-services and other learning opportunities related to procedural sedation, emergency management and other skills and technologies related to specialties.
• Collaborates with leadership and quality teams to address performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Supports standardization of clinical protocols, checklists, and documentation workflows.
• Ensures staff are trained and compliant with infection prevention, radiation safety, moderate sedation, and procedural time-out policies.
• Identifies possible causes for success or failure of learning experiences.
• Retrieves, interprets, and utilizes data in patient care planning and analyses data to determine opportunities for improvement.
• Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
• Functions as a role model for current and new staff in all areas of the hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
• Minimum Work Experience: 4 years Clinical nursing experience in Cath, EP, or IR Labs. Required
• Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
• ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS_CCI) within 18 Months Required or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES_CCI) within 18 Months Required
