Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Pediatric Emergency Room RN for a full-time 0.9 FTE position with a 4P-4A schedule and every third weekend. The role includes on-call eight-hour shifts every six weeks during busy periods.

The ED is a 44-bed pediatric department serving patients from birth to 18 years old. BSN preferred; Delaware license or compact license required; BLS certification upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN preferred.
• 2-3 years of nursing experience.
• ED experience required.
• Pediatric ED experience preferred.
• Eligible for Delaware state license or compact license.
• American Heart Association BLS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and provide care to assigned pediatric ED patients.
• Use critical thinking to develop nursing plans based on complex needs.
• Formulate, implement, and evaluate nursing plans.
• Assist patients and families with discharge planning and expectations.
• Advocate for patients and families with the health care team.
• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care according to department standards.

We are seeking a FULL-TIME Emergency Room RN in Wilmington, DE!!Nemours Children's Health 2025 LANTERN AWARD RECIPIENT!!

This position is FULL-TIME, 0.9 FTE, 4P-4A, every third weekend. One summer and one winter holiday per year. Busy season requires mandatory sign up to be on call for an eight-hour shift once every 6 weeks.

The pediatric Emergency Department (ED) at Nemours is a 44 bed Department, fully equipped to handle any kind of pediatric emergency in patients from birth to age 18.

Essential Job Functions:

• A registered nurse responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, and providing care to assigned patients
• Utilizes critical thinking to formulate nursing plan based on patient’s complex needs and problems.
• Formulates, implements and evaluates nursing plan based on patient complex needs and problems.
• Assists patient and family in discharge planning so that problems and care needs are anticipated and met.
• Serves as an advocate for patient and family in working with other members of the health care team.
• Provides safe and appropriate nursing care through adherence to Nursing Department standards.

Requirements:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN Preferred
• Must have 2-3 years of previous nursing experience
• ED experience
• Pediatric ED and Pediatric preference preferred
• Mustbe eligible for Delaware State license (or compact license)
• American Heart Association BLS Required upon hire
