Job summary

RN - Dialysis is a 12-week assignment in an outpatient dialysis unit staffed with 16 chairs. Work consists of three twelve-hour shifts weekly, with a 6:15am and 4:30pm-5:00pm changeovers and 5:15am start times for the first patients. Start date is 01/18; no on-call required and holidays observed except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Collaboration with techs and a charge nurse is essential. Must have RN licensure, with minimum 1 year experience preferred, and be proficient in hemodialysis.

Qualifications

• Experience with hemodialysis is required
• RN license to practice in Maine
• BLS and CCHT certifications preferred

Description:Start needed on 01/18.Manager interviews are required.The clinic operates Monday through Saturday from 0500 to 1700.Staff works 3 twelve-hour shifts each week.The facility is an outpatient chronic dialysis unit with 16 chairs.There are two shifts for patients:The first shift of patients starts at 0615, with a changeover around 1000-1200.The last patients come off around 1630-1700.The unit generally has a patient ratio of 1 RN to 4 techs when fully staffed.Support on the unit includes a charge nurse.The technology used includes paper charting, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis for medication dispensing.There will be no floating to other units.Staff is required to work every other Saturday.There is no on-call requirement.The unit is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but works all other holidays.Management approval is needed for time off requests.The shift times can vary through the week, with a schedule cycle that includes every other Saturday.Professional scrub colors are required.Teamwork is essential in this small unit, where everyone is expected to assist when needed.
