Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Staff Nurse for the PCCU Medical ICU in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time role supports 7pm–7:30am shifts, with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

You will develop care plans, assess patients, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing for diverse patient populations. The ideal candidate holds an ADN or higher with RN licensure in Illinois, ACLS/BLS, and inpatient experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years if ADN was the highest degree held.
  • Active Illinois State Nursing License.
  • ACLS and BLS required for position.
  • 1 year inpatient nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a plan of care to achieve expected outcomes and evaluates patient progress.
  • Performs patient assessment and collects health data from patient, family, and care team.
  • Communicates plan of care to patient/family and to physicians and interdisciplinary team.
  • Delivers patient education tailored to learning needs and cultural background.
  • Contributes to performance improvement, research, and evidence-based practice.

Hourly Pay Range:$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $37.25 base pay hourly rate beginning with the second paycheck in October.Position Highlights:Position: Registered Nurse PCCU - Medical ICULocation: Elmhurst, ILFull-Time: 36 hours/weekHours: 7pm – 7:30am - with every 3rd weekend and rotating holiday trackRequired Travel: May float to other adult inpatient units as neededWhat you will do:Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological supportProvide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based careIf skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients.
