Job summary

Allina Health is seeking an experienced RN for permanent night shifts in Buffalo, MN. This 0.7-0.9 FLEX FTE position includes 8- and 12-hour nights, with every 4th weekend rotation and a 36-hour work week per the two-week pay period.

The role requires an Associate's or Vocational degree in nursing with 2–5 years RN experience, and preferred critical care exposure. Licensure, ACLS/ALS/PALS as applicable, and a commitment to high-quality patient care are essential.

• Establishes, in the collaboration with the family and patient, realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patients present and potential capabilities, goals, available resources and plan for continuity of care.
• Identifies outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable.
• Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion.
• Fulfills all organizational requirements.

Job Description

Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse and a patient and family. As a leader and the integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient's care needs.

Provides nursing care across departments that provide critical care services. Provides specialized care to patients who are severely ill or injured. May practice in an intensive care unit or in a care area that requires the expertise of the critical care nurse.

  • Preceptor (only when acting in this role). Demonstrates ability to identify the orientee's learning needs, plans appropriate learning experiences and demonstrates ability to validate clinical competence of orientee.

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required if working in state of MN upon hire / WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in the state of WI upon hire
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current ALS certification from the American Red Cross
  • Allina in-house ACLS training (within 60 days of hire)
• Certified Critical Care RN - American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) preferred
• PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support - Allina Health required depending on site, including regionals within 1 year
• CMSRN Medical Surgical Nursing Certified preferred

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.64 to $74.34 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
