Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta invites applications for the Critical Care Development Program, a two‑year pathway designed to build critical care skills for both experienced and new grads. The program blends hands‑on practice with mentorship, education, and skill development to support a successful transition into critical care.

You will rotate through intermediate to critical care settings, with mentorship and structured learning to enhance clinical expertise and confidence.

Qualifications

  • RN with Associate or Bachelor’s degree required.
  • ACLS and BCLS certifications must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Nursing licensure in good standing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes.
  • Perform procedures as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document care in the patient record in a timely manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications and equipment for cardiac and medical‑surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Critical Care Development Program will facilitate a seamless transition from intermediate care to critical care environments.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Registered Nurse; Associate or Bachelors Degree
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
