Job summary

Carilion Clinic seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for Critical Care at CNRVMC in Christiansburg, VA. This full-time night shift role runs 7pm–7am, with every-other weekend and rotating holidays.

You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across ages, coordinate care, document in the EMR, and participate in performance improvement and education initiatives. The role requires Virginia RN licensure or eligibility, BLS-HCP, and strong computer/EMR skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required by area.
• Keyboarding skills and basic computer literacy with EMR use.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care and coordinate care for patients of all ages.

The RN provides professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient outcomes.

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.

Experience: None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records. For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation Range:

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
