Greater El Monte Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the ER initiative and deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles. Qualifications

  • PALS certification preferred; or within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Dysrhythmia certificate preferred

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Registered Nurse will support the ER initiative and provide quality patient care, managing individualized goal‑directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • The RN provides care, treatment, counseling, and health education to hospitalized patients. The RN is responsible for planning and coordination of care across the continuum, ensuring compliance with core measures, reducing length of stay, participating in quality, safety, and performance improvement activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to deliver outstanding customer service to patients, families, physicians, and the public.
  • Assesses the patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
  • Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, collaborating with each patient, family, or significant other to address all identified needs.
  • Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary.
  • Evaluates identified problems, care provided, and patient’s responses reassessed to meet patient and family needs and assure overall quality of care delivered.
  • Maintains up‑to‑date, accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure integration of information for use by the health‑care team.
  • Maintains current knowledge, certification, licensure and pursues professional growth and development.
  • Functions as a role model for current and new staff and performs patient/customer initiatives to keep patients and families happy.
  • Performs all responsibilities/Duties required by the critical care division, as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the unique nature of the client is addressed, including but not limited to the age of the client served.
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards.
  • Responsibly follows the hospital exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter‑ and intra‑departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Minimum Work Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

BSN Preferred.

Basic Computer Skills

Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Current California RN license
