Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Moncks Corner, SC is seeking an RN/APRN to join the surgical services team. You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate patients and families, manage IV therapy and preoperative medications, and participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.

You will work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative care. On-call is required during select non-business hours.

Qualifications

  • ACLS and BLS certifications due within 90 days of start date.
  • Associate Degree required.
  • APRN or RN credential must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
  • Provide education to patients and families.
  • Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
  • Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient flow.
  • Apply nursing process, critical thinking and leadership to safe care.
  • Monitor patient condition and document changes during shift.
  • Educate patients and families about condition and follow-up care.
