Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a correctional health assignment in Toledo, OH. The role runs on the evening shift and spans 52 weeks, with 10-hour shifts from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Wednesday through Saturday.

The RN will perform rounds, care planning, and direct nursing duties within a correctional setting. Responsibilities include medication administration (including narcotics), IV therapy, wound and dialysis care, and CPR as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with Ohio licensure if applicable.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to perform frequent stair climbing/descending.

Responsibilities

• Make rounds and assess care needs and rendered.
• Develop care plans and teach health care principles.
• Administer medications, including narcotics, and provide direct nursing care as needed.
• Perform IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, CPR and other procedures as needed.
• Organize and oversee emergency response teams and lead shift staff in absence of senior staff.
• Collaborate with physicians during diagnostic evaluations and document all pertinent information.

Description:Registered Nurse for second shift.Working hours are from 2 PM to 12 AM, Wednesday through Saturday.Days off are Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.Position in correctional facility.Responsibilities include making rounds and evaluating care needed and rendered.Nurse will develop care plans and teach health care principles.Administer medications, including narcotics, and provide all direct nursing care as needed.Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusion, incubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties.Organizes and oversees emergency response teams.Directs health care staff, including hospital aides and licensed practical nurses, assigned to the area.Acts as the lead worker in charge of the assigned shift in the absence of senior staff.Assists physicians in conducting diagnostic evaluations.Performs clerical tasks such as charting and recording medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information.Completes required incident and accident reports and documents necessary information.Orders supplies and equipment and maintains inventory of controlled drugs and medical supplies.Makes arrangements for out-patient clinic appointments and medical examinations.Handles new and refilled prescriptions ordered by physicians through local pharmacies.Performs administrative tasks and serves as a liaison with others in the organization.Conducts and/or attends meetings.Serves as an instructor on occasion and participates as a member or leader of problem-solving teams or groups.
