Job summary

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital seeks an experienced registered nurse to join its corporate float pool, providing care across adult inpatient units within the system. You will assess and revise care plans, advocate for patients and families, and document care while ensuring safety and age-appropriate practices.

The role requires an active Florida RN license or valid multistate license, BLS certification, and a minimum of one year acute care RN experience.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following: BSN, ASN, or Diploma Nurse.
• Maintains active Florida RN license or multistate RN license.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Float to each adult in-patient unit within the system as needed by Corporate Staffing Office.
• Assess patient needs and revise individualized care plans based on progress and outcomes.
• Maintain safe, respectful care environments and advocate for patients and families.
• Delegate and document care appropriately and ensure age-specific patient needs are met.
• Participate in process improvement activities and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

• Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
• Meets all mandatory and developmental requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.
• Must have one of the following: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Be a Diploma Nurse

Licensure/Certification:

• Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required based on the appropriate certification for the patient population.

One (1) year of acute care RN experience.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Must be willing and able to work at any Orlando Health facility as determined necessary by the Corporate Staffing Office.
• Assesses patient’s needs and develops/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses. Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attaining expected outcomes.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit.

• Prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner including, but not limited to, patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety.
• Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit specific requisite skills.
• Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
• Practices effective problem identification and resolution.
• Delegates tasks and duties to healthcare team members in accordance with the patient’s needs and the team member’s capabilities and qualifications.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to other health care team members.
• Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patients and family.
• Integrates patient and family education throughout the delivery of care.
• Participates in process improvement activities as assigned.
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patients’ rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
