Mercy Hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU) cares for patients that have been admitted from the Emergency Department and doctor’s office or are overflow patients from the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit (CVU). These patients typically have had a heart attack or are experiencing chest pain. Some of the procedures on this unit include stints, cath lab procedures, balloon pumps, ECMO, and pacers. The CCU is a loyal, fast‑paced unit that holds safety and quality in the highest regard and empowers caregivers to speak up. This unit is known for its high patient satisfaction ratings, low turnover and longevity, and shared love for the adrenaline this unit and work provides. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. You will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.
