Job summary

Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital with comprehensive obstetrics, trauma and specialty care across multiple Kansas City locations. The RN Coordinator Trauma/Womens works with the trauma surgical team to ensure continuous patient-centered care from resuscitation to ICU, supporting performance improvement and rapid activation per ACS standards.

We seek experienced RNs with acute care trauma credentials and the ability to coordinate across departments.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NRP must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• TNCC must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date (RN).
• RN license must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Associates degree required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in care for obstetrical trauma patients in a patient/family centered approach.
• Coordinate trauma care across hospital departments (Trauma Resuscitation bay, Radiology, OR, PACU, ICU).
• Support Performance Improvement initiatives with trauma staff and leadership.

Job Summary and Qualifications

A specialized position that assist with care to the obstetrical trauma patients in a patient/family centered approach, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization, as well as guidelines of professional organizations. The RN Coord Trauma/Womens remains available for all trauma activations and promptly available 24/7 (response times to reflect ACS standards 15 minutes for highest tier activation, 30 minutes for second tier activation). The RN will follow the patient throughout the hospital course (Trauma Resuscitation bay, Radiology, OR, PACU, ICU). The RN Coord works in conjunction with the Director of Trauma Services and Trauma Medical Director to assist in providing quality care to an assigned group of patients. Assists in identification of Performance Improvement opportunities; creates clear action plans and initiates resolution of Performance Improvement opportunities in coordination with the trauma surgical staff, trauma program director, trauma medical director and trauma liaisons.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date (RN)
• Registered Nurse must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree
