Job summary

Fieldston Lodge Care Center in Riverdale, NY, is seeking Professional, Caring, Energetic and Eager RNs to join our team and deliver 24-hour skilled nursing care. We provide a home-like atmosphere with a focus on dignity and respect, and our 200-bed facility offers both long- and short-term care.

• Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
• Reports to the Site Manager.
• Starts IVs.
• Administers IV/Oral Beta Blockers and monitors the patient.
• Maintains daily crash cart/medication logs.
• Completes monthly logs.
• Reviews schedule/orders and educates patients and families.
• Promotes independence by setting care goals and teaching self-care skills.
• Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Performs patient tests and administers medications within RN scope.

Fieldston Lodge provides 24-hour care along with many other services to ensure you or your loved one will receive the highest quality of care. Fieldston Lodge Care Center is a 200 bed skilled nursing facility providing both long and short term care.

Job Description

• Reports to the Site Manager.

• Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
• Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scop of practice of the registered nurse.
• Promotes patients’ independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential.

Requirements

• Must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written

• Education Requirements for a Registered Nurse (RN)
• New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Must be a willing to work together as a team to ensure the goals at hand are achieved.
