Qualifications

• 1 year of professional nursing experience in a relevant specialty area (Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, Emergency, Perioperative, or related field).
• Current RN license in Louisiana and a BSN degree.
• American Heart Association BLS-HCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily department operations under the nurse manager/director.
• Serves as a clinical and operational resource while maintaining current knowledge of best practices.
• Monitors nursing documentation compliance and provides staff education to meet standards.
• Develops and manages staffing schedules based on patient acuity and department needs.
• Supervises staff including onboarding, orientation, competency validation, coaching, and feedback.
• Partners with leadership in recruitment, interviewing and selection of candidates.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and orientation requirements.
• Conducts environmental, safety, and patient rounds; promotes patient satisfaction.
• Participates in quality improvement, chart audits, core measures, and performance monitoring.
