UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Acute Neuroscience unit. The role requires providing competent nursing care for neurosurgery and neurology patients, and coordinating care across a multidisciplinary team on a 36-hour weekly schedule with rotating shifts.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina and a nursing degree are required. Prior nursing experience and BLS certification are expected as part of the patient-centered, safety-focused environment.
We are a team of positive, dynamic and talented neuro nurses providing exceptional nursing care to Neurosurgery and Neurology patients. We are a true medical-surgical unit treating patients who have spinal and brain surgeries, brain tumors, stroke, seizures, and neuromuscular diagnoses such as Myasthenia Gravis, Guillain Barre Syndrome, and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy. Our Team of nurses, physicians and therapists set the standards for highly collaborative care in order to become the first Comprehensive Stroke Center in the Southeast as designated by the Joint Commission in 2012. Our physician teams are nationally recognized as innovators in neuro care, receiving patients throughout North Carolina and surrounding states. Our unit has 27 beds available to serve the varying needs of our patient population including a 7 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. We are focused on providing highly collaborative, patient centered care which ensures great outcomes.
