Job summary

ThedaCare Medical Center - Wild Rose in Wisconsin seeks an experienced RN to provide patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum. You will collaborate with an interprofessional team to deliver high-quality care while managing patient needs and safety in a demanding environment.

Requirements include Wisconsin RN licensure, BLS, ADN with BSN preferred, and certifications (ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC/NRP as applicable). Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds; shift: Days.

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN Licensure.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• ACLS within 6 months for applicable departments.
• PALS within 6 months for Emergency Department.
• TNCC within 18 months for ED roles and recertification every 4 years.
• ENPC or related pediatric certification within 12–18 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition using nursing process and plan care with the interprofessional team.
• Collaborate with providers to achieve high-quality care and outcomes.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise across assigned departments and functions.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient experience and reduce costs.
• Mentor and develop peers to retain expert clinicians.
• Consult with physicians and team to problem-solve patient care issues.
• Manage risk and respond effectively to life-threatening emergencies.
• Perform life-saving nursing care during crises and in critical settings.

The RN Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Through collaborative practice with members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develops a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the patient and interprofessional team.
• Plans for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and performs all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.
• Identifies ways to improve the patient’s experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.
• Contributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.
• Provides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.
• Demonstrates, anticipates, and proactively manages risk to prevent crises.
• Performs skillfully in life threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crises situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

• Medical / Surgical Departments - Critical Access Hospitals:
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date
• Emergency Departments:
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire date
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC): RNs with less than 1 year of ED experience upon hire must complete Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 18 months of hire date and maintain every 4 years thereafter. RNs with greater than 1 year ED experience must complete Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire and maintain every 4 years thereafter.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC): RNs with less than 1 year of Pediatric ED experience upon hire must complete Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 18 months of hire date and maintain every 4 years thereafter. RNs with greater than 1-year Pediatric ED experience must complete Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 12 months of hire and maintain every 4 years thereafter
• Critical Care / Intermediate Care Departments: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date
• ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah, Neuro Department: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date
• ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton, Cardiac Department: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date
• Cardiovascular / Special Procedures / Cath Lab: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire date
