Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI, seeks a Clinical Manager (RN) to lead a 22-bed Medical Specialty Unit and drive strategic, operational, and quality improvements. You will mentor a team of ~60 staff, including RNs, CNAs, and Recreation Therapists, while shaping the unit's long-term vision and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; Master's preferred.
• 3+ years of clinical RN or equivalent healthcare experience demonstrating leadership.
• Previous leadership or management experience strongly preferred.
• Current RN license in Wisconsin (or ability to obtain).
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for a specialized Medical Psychiatric Unit.
• Lead and support a team of approximately 60 staff, including RNs, CNAs, and Recreation Therapists.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and leadership development for a team of 3-4 Nursing Supervisors.
• Collaborate with the Director of Med/Surg Services, physician partners, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members to improve patient outcomes and operational performance.
• Develop and execute both short- and long-term plans to advance quality, staff engagement, and unit performance.
• Champion change management initiatives that strengthen culture, improve workflows, and support caregivers caring for a medically and behaviorally complex patient population.
