Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Clinical Manager to lead therapy services in our home health setting. You will ensure high-quality, compliant patient care while coordinating referrals, scheduling, and documentation.

You will oversee clinical performance, participate in on-call activities, and support staff development. This role requires RN licensure, a nursing degree, CPR certification, and leadership experience in home health or hospice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (RN) required.
• Current RN license for the assigned state(s).
• Current CPR certification required.
• 1+ year RN clinical experience in home health or hospice.
• 1+ year RN management experience.

Responsibilities

• Recommends employment decisions for staff to the director of operations, including hiring/firing/promotions.
• Oversees overall quality of patient care and clinical performance of nurses and aides.
• Organizes clinical operations for the care center.
• Reviews service requests and determines patient eligibility for home care; coordinates referrals/admissions with intake.
• Oversees scheduling and payor verification requirements.
• Reviews staff documentation to ensure completeness and timeliness.
• Assists clinicians in establishing goals and Plan of Care (POC).
• Regularly evaluates patient needs and revises the plan of care as needed.
• May provide direct patient care in emergencies.
• Participates in on-call process.
• Assists with training to ensure quality care and fiscal responsibility.
• Addresses patient/family/physician concerns.

As the Clinical Manager, you will provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of therapy services to ensure high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective patient care, while maintaining fiscal responsibility, facilitating patient care communication, and supporting referrals, scheduling, patient visits, and documentation as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Recommends employment decisions for staff to the director of operations, including decisions to hire, fire, advance, promote or change status
• Oversees overall quality of patient care and clinical performance of nurses and aides
• Organizes clinical operations for the care center
• Reviews requests for services and determines patient eligibility/suitability for home care services. Works with intake in coordinating patient referrals and admissions
• Oversees scheduling
• Oversees payor verification and precertification requirements
• Reviews documentation of other staff members and ensures missing, incomplete and/or untimely documentation issues are resolved
• Assists clinicians in establishing immediate and long-term patient goals, setting priorities and developing Plan of Care (POC)
• Regularly evaluates the needs of the patient and makes necessary revisions to the plan of care in collaboration with clinicians
• May provide direct patient care on an infrequent basis in times of emergency
• Participates in the on-call process
• Assists with training of staff to ensure quality care, compliance and fiscal responsibility
• Participates in the investigation and resolution of patient/family/physician concerns

Required Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work
• Current CPR certification
• 1+ year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice
• 1+ year of RN management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $73,188 to $109,782 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
