Job summary

SSM Health's St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City is seeking an RN Clinical Educator to design and deliver training, support clinical competency, onboard new caregivers, and promote evidence-based practices that enhance quality and patient safety.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3 years RN experience, and onsite teaching across in-person and virtual formats. Regular daytime hours with potential training-related weekend work, and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Three years of registered nurse experience.
  • Experience in clinical education or staff development preferred.
  • Ability to conduct in-person and virtual teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with nurse managers to assess learning needs and competencies.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates educational plans and programs.
  • Identifies and develops teaching tools and instructional materials.
  • Maintains training records in the Learning Management System.
  • Applies evidence-based practice to nursing care and patient needs.
  • Demonstrates professional nursing standards per ANA Code of Ethics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Scheduling & Logistics:
  • The position is fully onsite.
  • Standard workdays are Monday through Friday.

  • There is no on-call requirement.

Job Summary:

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess learning needs and competencies.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
  • Identifies and/or develops teaching tools and instructional materials.
  • Maintains training record of educational activities in the Learning Management System or similar system.
  • Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs.
  • As an SSM Health nurse, I will demonstrate the professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model. Uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide his/her response to the current and evolving health and nursing needs of our patients and our patient populations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION

  • Three years' registered nurse experience
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
