Job summary

Novant Health in Kernersville, NC, is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for our OR to oversee day-to-day operations, keep cases on schedule, and ensure rooms and supplies are ready for each case. You will coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and materials management to secure instruments and equipment.

The role requires an NC RN license with at least 3 years in a critical care or healthcare setting; ASC leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in North Carolina is required.
• Minimum of 3 years in a critical care or healthcare setting.
• Prior ASC or OP suite leadership experience preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day OR operations; keep cases on schedule.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, vendor reps, SPD & Materials Mgmt for instruments and supplies.
• Manage staffing and assignments.
• Lead the OR team with clear direction on tasks and schedule.
• Maintain clinical and regulatory readiness; audits, quality checks, documentation.
• Circulating/scrubbing and assist in OR after 3 p.m.

What We Offer

• Schedule: Full time (FT), 40 hours- day shift. Five 8 hour shifts. Hours are 6:30A-3P on average, some late days required if a case is running over. Center is only open M-F.No call, no weekends, no holidays!
• Department: Operating Room (OR)- Candidates must have at least 3 years of OR experience for thisposition.Past ASC/ leadership exp preferred.
• Location: Kernersville Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), 1730 Kernersville Medical Parkway, Kernersville, North Carolina
• Unit Info:Procedures range from ophthalmology, ortho, pain management & urology cases.
• Eligible for benefits day one!
• This position requires a RN license

What We're Looking For

• Education:4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. B.S. in Nursing or related field, preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in a critical care or healthcare equivalent setting, required.
  • Prior ASC or OP suite experience with leadership responsibility, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Licensed as an RN in North Carolina, required.
  • ACLs and PALS certification, preferred.
• Additional Skills Required:
  • Strong background in patient centric care; Experience with facilitating education and training; Must have the ability to complete assignments required for Medicare, TJC/AAAHC and other required organizations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly WORD, Excel and Outlook. Experience in leadership roles; Strong ethical and moral character references; Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail without compromise of patient care.
• Additional Skills Preferred:Proficiency in PowerPoint.

What You'll Do

Day to Day

• The Clinical Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day OR operations — keep cases on schedule, ensure rooms and supplies are ready, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, vendor reps, SPD & Materials Management to make sure instruments, equipment, and supplies are available for each case.
• Manage staffing and assignments
• Lead the OR team — provide clear direction on what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and when staff can leave for the day.
• Maintain clinical and regulatory readiness — audits, quality checks, preference cards, tissue/specimen logs, AAAHC readiness, and required documentation.
• Jump in clinically when needed — including circulating/scrubbing and helping cover the OR after 3 p.m.
