Job summary

Summa Health System – Barberton Campus is seeking an RN Clinical Coordinator to support the Emergency Department during 7p–7:30a, part time (24 hours/week). The role emphasizes patient flow, bed assignments, and collaboration with physicians to resolve bottlenecks while delivering direct patient care.

The candidate should have ADN with CCNE/ACEN accreditation, Ohio RN license, and ER nursing experience. ACLS, TNCC, and NVCI certifications are required for relevant sites.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and expedite patients through the ED to balance workload and acuity

Summary

Coordinates and expedites patients through the Emergency Department while balancing patient workload and acuity evenly among various nursing zones. Provides bed assignments for incoming emergency department patients; communicates intradepartmental patient movement to emergency registrars; collaborates with charge physician when problems or bottlenecks occur; provides direct patient care to maintain patient flow.

Formal Education Required

Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required, BSN preferred
Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio

Experience And Training Required

Three (3) years nursing experience in an emergency department.
Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Current TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum) certification for required work locations
Current NVCI certification for required work locations
