Job summary

Columbia Memorial Hospital invites an Ambulatory Care Nurse to join our clinic teams in Oregon. You will assess, plan, direct, evaluate and perform patient care activities, supporting providers with procedures and coordinating all services required for assigned patients.

Qualified candidates hold an Oregon RN license (unencumbered), a Washington RN license, and BLS, with ambulatory/orthopedic experience preferred. CMH emphasizes exceptional customer service in a welcoming setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
• Two years of RN experience.
• Ambulatory care experience in Orthopedics preferred.
• Current Oregon RN license (unencumbered).

The Ambulatory Care Nurse provides ambulatory care services by assessing, planning, directing, evaluating, and performing skills related to patient care in CMH clinics. Assists providers with and performs procedures appropriate for the clinic. Coordinates all services necessary for the care of assigned patients. Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to:

A thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures; knowledge and skills in techniques of good patient care whether medical or surgical, including multiple monitoring techniques. Demonstrates proficient computer skills. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to a changing environment.

Must possess assessment skills for all age groups. Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English. Must be able to operate office machines, as well as medical‑related equipment. Education And/or Experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance

Normal or correct vision is required to monitor patient. Occasionally will work extended hours or variation of usual shift and will be dependent on patient requirements. Ability to lift and transfer patients is required, usually with the assistance of co-workers, but some occasional lifting without assistance. Normal to corrected vision is required. Standing is necessary. Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing. Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment. Subject to physical and emotional stress of work environment.

Must be willing and committed to safe management of potentially infectious diseases. Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts. Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for 8 – 12 hours (shift dependent). Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
