Job summary

Ridgeview is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care in a clinic setting, coordinating communication among patients, physicians and providers. The role focuses on accurate vital signs, record-keeping in EMR, and timely patient education.

The nurse will assist with examinations, administer medications, prepare equipment, and support referrals and authorizations as needed, maintaining a high standard of patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a School of Nursing.
• 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
• Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or a permit from MN Board of Nursing while license is in process.
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination room and obtain vitals and histories; document in EMR.
• Perform telephone assessment of patient condition and advise treatment under provider supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments per clinic policies.
• Prepare equipment and assist providers during examination, testing and treatment.
• Maintain stocked supplies and sterilize instruments and exam rooms.

Job Functions

• Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and patient histories; documents in EMR.
• Performs telephone assessment of patient condition and determines appropriate treatment for patient under the supervision of the provider.
• Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies.
• Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients.
• Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam room.
• Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at end of day.
• Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.
• Provides patient education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• Graduate from a School of Nursing
• 1 year of experience in a clinical setting

• Skills in assessment of patient condition and taking vital signs
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
• Skills in preparing and maintaining records and reports
• Ability to effectively handle high-stress fast paced environment

• Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

License/Certifications

• Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process
