Job summary

Augusta Health office in Fishersville, Virginia seeks an experienced office nurse to provide clinical support and direct patient care under physician supervision. You will contribute to a well-organized clinic and ensure accurate documentation and smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes teamwork, coordination of follow-up care and referrals, triage, measure collection, and assisting in exams in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Current nursing licensure valid in Virginia or Compact state
• CPR certification required
• Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Participates in educational and training programs to meet Augusta Health requirements
• Ability to work effectively as a team player.
• Arrange for follow-up care and appointments for patients and maintain communication with patients/families in other facilities
• Arrange and track patient referrals to specialty physicians.
• Assist with blood pressure check visits and medicine reviews.
• Provide direct routine nursing care to patients according to physician’s instructions.
• Collect, label and prepare specimens for lab delivery.
• Perform nursing triage for acute visit requests from patients.
• Documents all patient care and relevant data accurately and systematically.
• Provide assistance to the provider as needed in examinations and special procedures.
