Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center in Minnesota is seeking a registered nurse for clinic-based patient care and coordination of communication among patients, physicians, and providers.

Job description

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in a clinic setting and for facilitating patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care.

Job Functions
  1. Escorts patients to the examination room, obtains vitals and patient histories, and documents information in EMR.
  2. Performs telephone assessment of patient condition and determines appropriate treatment for patient under the supervision of the provider.
  3. Administers prescribed medications, vaccines, and treatments in accordance with clinic policies.
  4. Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing, and treatment of patients.
  5. Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments and exam rooms.
  6. Performs room turnover in patient rooms between cases and at the end of the day.
  7. Assists in arranging referrals and prior authorizations as necessary.
  8. Provides patient education.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
  • Graduate from a School of Nursing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence to complete job functions.
  • Skills in assessment of patient condition and taking vital signs.
  • Skills in preparing and maintaining records and reports.
  • Ability to effectively handle a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to multi‑task.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
License and Certifications
  • Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing if licensed in another state while the license application is in process.
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
Compensation

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
