Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Circulator to support patient care in our ambulatory surgical center.

The role entails assisting in surgical procedures, coordinating care with the operating room team, and ensuring patient safety from pre-op through post-op. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license, CPR and ACLS certification, and at least one year of OR experience, including scrub and circulating duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• CPR and ACLS are required.
• Minimum one year in the OR; able to scrub and circulate.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub functions including instrument handling during procedures.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring patient condition and nursing care before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assists the surgeon with hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure.
• Prepares operating rooms and equipment for use.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Circulator assists in provision of nursing care to patients in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting. Assumes total responsibility for patient care in accordance with physician's orders and centers policies. During operations and other surgical procedures, the circulator assists by acting as an intermediary between the operating room staff and the rest of the surgical center.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; current state RN license.
• CPR and ACLS required.
• Minimum one year in the OR, ability to scrub as well as circulate preferred.
• Orthopedic, GI, and Ophthalmology (or multispecialty) experience preferred.
