Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Administer medications and blood products per policy in coordination with anesthesia.
• Maintain sterile technique and patient safety during procedures.
• Scrub or circulate as assigned and document care.
• Communicate patient information and collaborate with the health care team.

Functions And Responsibilities

Perioperative Registered Nurses/Circulators are clinically competent, registered, professional nurses who have demonstrated expertise in the perioperative field. They effectively deliver perioperative care to the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Supervised by the Surgical Services Unit Charge Nurses and the Director of Surgical Services

Clinical Duties

• Administers medications, blood and blood products according to policy and procedure in collaboration with anesthesia
• Administers treatments, ensuring proper positioning, prepping, and safety of patient before, during, and after procedure.
• Ensures sterile technique is mantained at all times, communicating with team and surgeons for patient safety.
• Performs patient care, scrub or circulating duties as assigned. Adhering to ARON standards and recommendations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing

Licensure/Certification
