Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking an RN Circulator to join our cardiac team in Lubbock, TX. You will support physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, monitor patient data, document care and charges, and ensure safe medication administration with narcotics control.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, BLS and ACLS, and at least 2 years cath lab experience. On-call duties apply with a focus on patient safety and quality improvement in a family-oriented hospital.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must hold current Texas RN licensure.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • 2 years Cath Lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures and provide continuity of care.
  • Observe and document physiologic monitoring data and initiate appropriate action.
  • Address psychosocial needs of patient and family.
  • Document patient data and charges accurately and promptly.
  • Administer medications and IV solutions safely and track narcotics.
  • Check patient chart and perform patient assessment.
  • Adhere to protocols to reduce radiation exposure.
  • Maintain inventory and medications; check expirations.
  • Identify opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Assist with safe patient transport and department efficiency.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Review chart for accurate charges and procedures; perform data entry for statistics.

We are looking for a dedicated RN Circulatorlike you to join our Lubbock Heart team.

What You Will do in this Role:
  • Assist the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures and providing continuity of care.
  • Observe and document physiologic monitoring data and initiate appropriate action.
  • Address the psychosocial needs of the patient and family.
  • Accurately and efficiently document patient data and charges on the patient record.
  • Safely and appropriately administer medication and IV solutions while demonstrating accountability for tracking narcotics.
  • Checks patient chart for pertinent data and performs patient assessment.
  • Adhere to protocol designed to reduce radiation exposure.
  • Maintain the availability of inventory and medications based on anticipated needs; checks expiration dates and package integrity.
  • Identify and utilize the opportunity for professional growth and employee development.
  • Assure and assist with safe patient transport to other departments as needed.
  • Assist in the assessment of the department's efficiency by participating in quality improvement process.
  • Additional Duties as assigned:
  • Review chart for accurate charges and procedures.
  • Perform data entry for statistical analysis and file in the appropriate binder.
  • Perform weekly narcotic audit per protocol.
  • On call duties as follows:
    • Notify on Call staff.
    • Adhere to protocol for appropriate response time, patient transport and procedure set up in a timely manner.
    • Notify physician.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure as a nurse in the state of Texas.
  • BLS and ACLS required.
  • 2 years Cath Lab experience

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac, orthopedic, nephrology, urology, and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic, orthopedic, urology, and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms, 4 fully operating OR rooms, 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room, 11-day surgery rooms, 58 acute care beds spread over three units, and 16 cardiac critical care rooms. We pride ourselves on giving the best overall care possible to our patients and on our family style atmosphere that includes everyone: patients and their families, physicians, and our employees.
