Job summary

Northwest Health - Porter Hospital is seeking an RN Charge for the Progressive Care Unit on night shifts. The role oversees unit operations, coordinates care across teams, and supports staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

This full-time position requires 1-2 years of nursing experience, RN licensure, BLS, and preferred ACLS. Involves managing patient flow, maintaining safety standards, and promoting professional development within a 30-bed unit.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• RN license and BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to oversee complex patient care and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and supports nursing and support staff, delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Evaluates staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to maintain high standards of care.
• Oversees assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and resolve flow or delivery issues.
• Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families, and hospital departments.
• Monitors patient flow, bed assignments, and resource utilization within the unit.
• Fosters education and professional development for nursing staff.
• Leads infection prevention efforts and ensures PPE and hand hygiene adherence.
