Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans seeks a cath lab nurse to lead and coordinate patient care with a multidisciplinary team. The role requires on-call availability and strong clinical judgment to support heart care patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.
• Preferred: BSN.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate care touchpoints for patients, prioritizing and delegating as needed.
• Explain procedures to patients and family as appropriate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and physicians to ensure quality care.
• Maintain a safe environment and monitor patient conditions and concerns.
• Ensure Joint Commission infection control and environment of care standards.
• Advise supervisor if unable to complete tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others as needed.

Your Everyday Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients. Explain procedure to patient and family as appropriate. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and work alongside physicians to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes. Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone. Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns. Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care. requirements. Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient. Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely. Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services. Contribute to the team by assistingothers without being asked.

Must-Haves Minimum:

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.
• Preferred: BSN preferred.
• Experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
