Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking Registered Nurses for StaffFlex contracting across multiple facilities in the United States. You will float between hospitals, delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing care while maintaining high standards of patient safety.

Roles offer guaranteed hours, direct AdventHealth employment within the StaffFlex program, and potential pathways to permanent positions. Typical shifts include 4x10s with after-hours calls as described.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate — Required
• Work Experience: 2 years cath lab nursing in an acute hospital setting — Required
• Licenses: RN — Required
• BLS, ACLS — Required
• PALS/TNCC — Preferred
• English fluency required

Responsibilities

• Provide education to patients and families from admission to discharge
• Document education provided and patient responses
• Initiate referrals to healthcare providers as needed
• Deliver competent, compassionate nursing care per policy
• Administer medications accurately as ordered
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures
• Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges

Job Details:

• Provides necessary education to patients and families from admission to discharge, covering medical and nursing care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
• Documents education provided, including patient responses and outcomes.
• Initiates referrals to healthcare providers as needed.
• Delivers competent, compassionate care to patients in pain according to policy and maintains a safe care environment.
• Administers medications accurately as ordered.
• Responds to unit and hospital code situations.
• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures.
• Manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.
• Verifies and signs off physician orders and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Evaluates the nursing care plan to ensure safe, competent care delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. [Required]
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows-based programs. [Required]
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills) [Required]
• Education: Associate [Required]
• Work Experience: 2 years of cath lab nursing experience in an acute hospital setting. [Required]
• Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
• OR Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) [Preferred]
