Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital as an RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab on the Day shift (6:30am–5:00pm) in Vero Beach, Florida. You will care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations using state-of-the-art technology and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

We seek a registered nurse with ADN or BSN, 2 years of critical care experience, BLS and ACLS. RN licensure is required. BSN is preferred; strong communication and patient-care skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of recent critical care nursing experience.
• Current state RN licensure is required.
• BLS Certification through AHA/ARC is required.
• ACLS Certification through AHA/ARC is required or ALS equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Invasive Lab.
• Assess, prepare and position patients for procedures.
• Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Prepare, implement and document plans of care.
• Communicate patients’ condition to physicians before, during and after procedures.
• Assist with and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.

As an RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will provide care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations, an invasive imaging procedure that evaluates heart function. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Invasive Lab.

• Assess, prepare and position patients for procedures.

• Set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Two years of recent critical care nursing experience

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and coordination.

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
