Job summary

University Health System seeks an experienced RN for a case management role responsible for screening patients at the front door to determine acute or observation bed placement. The position coordinates diversions to appropriate care settings and serves as a liaison to medical staff, nursing and families.

Texas RN licensure is required with BSN preferred and a preference for national certification. Three years of hospital experience and completion of a Clinical Documentation Improvement course

Qualifications

• RN license must be current in Texas.
• BSN preferred.
• National certification in related field is preferred.
• Three years of recent, full-time hospital experience preferred.
• Clinical Documentation Improvement Course to be completed within specified time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients at the front door for placement in acute or observation beds.
• Coordinate appropriate diversions to home or other level of care.
• Serve as liaison with medical staff, nursing, patients and families; communicate effectively.
