What You'll Do

• Comply with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures.


• Evaluate health status through the collection and assessment of health data.


• Collect subjective and objective data.


• Analyze reports and record data.


• Use data to identify health care problems and create plans.


• Prioritize patients' needs.


• Triage patients either in person or via telephone and implement proper course of action.


• Conduct telephone callbacks to patients requiring follow-up care.


• Evaluate emergency situations and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.


• Provide health teaching and counseling to patients and/or their families.


• Execute delegated medical functions consistent with the medical plan prescribed by a physician.


• Administer intravenous therapy and other medications.


• Provide supportive and restorative therapy and treatment.


• Refer patients to medical or community agencies as needed.


• Review and monitor therapy and treatment patient plans.


• Facilitate the coordination and integration of care between health care services.


• Manage populations of patients to ensure appropriate utilization of health care resources.


• Lead the health care team by influencing and role modeling effective nursing practice.
