Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity unit. The role offers day shifts (6:45 AM–7:15 PM) in a setting focused on compassionate, whole-person care and opportunities for clinical ladder-based salary increases up to 20% based on experience and achievement.

The position requires 2+ years of acute care, RN license, BLS, NIHSS, and an Associate degree in nursing. EKG knowledge is preferred and EPIC knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • RN with acute care experience and current licensure.
  • Active BLS certification required.
  • Stroke certification (NIHSS) required.
  • Associate degree in nursing is required; bachelor's preferred.
  • EKG knowledge required or preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust plans for optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions and self-care.
  • Collaborate with care teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Document care in the EMR accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff to maintain high quality care.
  • Maintain infection control and safety in the unit.
  • Respond to life-threatening situations using established protocols.

Job Description:

Schedule: Part Time/ 2 x 12's

Shift: Days (6:45AM - 7:15PM)

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses. Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years' recent acute care experience [Required]
