Qualifications

• Must have hemodynamic monitoring (Swan, art lines).
• Ventilator management experience required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience.
• ACLS and BLS required.
• Meditech charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity CVICU nursing care.
• Support postoperative cardiac patients (CABG, VAD, cath-related).
• Adhere to unit policies and floating guidelines.
• Ensure patient safety and timely documentation.

• Strong critical thinking skills
• 2 years or more ICU experience
• ACLS

• NIH REQUIRED

Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: (candidates with these skills will be considered first)

• IABP exposure
• CRRT exposure
• Meditech charting/ order entry – Preferred

Specialty/Unit Certifications Required: (RN)

• ACTIVE TX RN License – NO TEMP LICENSE ACCEPTED

Procedures performed on unit:

• Post CABG
• Post VAD
• Post Cath with various cardiac support devices- IABP, Impella, ecmo

Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.

Scrub Color

• RN: Navy-scrub top and pant, Navy or white scrub jacket

Nail Policy –

• Clean and Healthy

Hair –

• hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed

Tattoos –

• Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually

Piercings –

• Visible piercings other than ears, is prohibited

• Badging in and out for shift is required along with taking a full 30 minute lunch.
• Be on time for scheduled shifts (Clock in time 6:38 am/pm, after 6:45 is considered tardy)
