MU Health Care is seeking a compassionate RN to join our Cardiology team on the Nights shift with every other weekend rotation, on-site at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. Base pay ranges from $34.46 to $51.02 per hour with additional night and weekend differentials.

Responsibilities include pain assessment, medication management, patient education, and collaborative care with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Missouri RN licensure required or multi-state RN per compact rules.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.

• Shift Differentials: Additional $4.00 per hour for Night shift & $3.00 per hour for Weekend shift

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

• Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribesappropriate nursingactions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative patient needs, including discharge planning.
• Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient’s self-report and symptoms of pain promptly. Utilizes an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or FLACC)
• Demonstrates an understanding of medicationsregardingaction and side effects. Reports pertinent information to theappropriate individual. Educates patients and significant others about their medications.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.
• Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursingunit.
• Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups. Understands the attendance and punctuality guidelines, and adherence to the dress code.
• Reports pertinent observations and reactionsregardingpatients to theappropriate personand records those observations accurately and concisely.
• Provides quality patient care and works with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.
• May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. Whenprimarystate of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
• One (1) year of RN experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Additionallicense/certification requirements asdeterminedby the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day,365 daysa year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will berequired.
