Job description

The RN-Cardiac Care role is pivotal in delivering specialized nursing care to patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions within a hospital or clinical setting. This position requires comprehensive assessment, monitoring, and management of patients experiencing cardiac events, ensuring timely interventions and adherence to evidence-based protocols. The nurse will collaborate closely with cardiologists, multidisciplinary teams, and patients' families to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal cardiac health and recovery. Additionally, the role involves educating patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term wellness. Ultimately, the RN-Cardiac Care professional plays a critical role in improving patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of cardiac care services provided.

$20,000 Sign-On Bonus

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year cardiac clinical nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications or must obtain within 30 days of hire date.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiac pathologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Cardiac Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) or equivalent specialty certification.
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in cardiac care units.
  • Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary cardiac care team.
  • Advanced certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough cardiac assessments including vital signs, ECG interpretation, and symptom evaluation to identify changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and cardiac-specific treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical guidelines.

  • Respond to cardiac emergencies such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, and cardiac arrests with appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advancements in cardiac nursing care.
