Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Behavioral Health Unit in Kansas City, MO is seeking an RN for the Behavioral Health Intake Case Manager role. This full-time position features day shifts, 8-hour shifts, and comprehensive benefits.

You will assess psychiatric patients, triage in the ED or from external facilities, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate disposition, patient safety, stabilization, and recovery.

Qualifications

• Current and valid State RN License.
• At least 2 years of Psychiatric Nursing experience.
• BLS certification on hire and maintained.
• Greater than 2 years of management experience, preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric emergency and triage preferred.
• Knowledge of Milliman Criteria and InterQual Criteria preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medical necessity and discharge planning regulations.

Responsibilities

• Initiate triage of a patient who presents in psychiatric crisis to the ED or from outside facilities.
• Ensure quality of triage and appropriate resource management for all psychiatric assessments.
• Assess appropriateness of admission and/or disposition for psychiatric patients.
• Provide psychiatric assessments in ED, BH unit, or acute care units.
• Coordinate regulatory standards with attending psychiatrist and community resources.
• Oversee utilization review related to triage and admission to the BH Unit.
• Act as patient advocate and lead integration across care teams.
