Qualifikationen

• Ability to understand and apply medical and facility terminology.
• Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures and ability to follow them.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to act as a patient advocate.
• Ability to respond effectively in emergencies and stay composed.
• Ability to support individuals with behavioral or emotional needs.
• Proficiency in computer skills and EMR systems, including MS Office.

Aufgaben

• Prioritize and organize the daily care of patients and coordinate care assignments with clinical staff.
• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff.
• Direct support staff to coordinate workflow and report issues to unit supervisors.
• Document nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records timely and accurately.
• Provide orientation and staff support on the unit.
• Assess and document patients' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge.
• Administer medications and treatments per facility policies.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for changes in diagnosis or treatment.
• Monitor medication administration and compile clinical observation notes.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, procedures and goals.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety and a therapeutic environment.
• Ensure safety and infection control standards are met on the unit.

Ausbildung

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Indiana Registered Nurse license

CPR certification
