Job summary

US Digestive Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a per diem position to support patients undergoing GI procedures in a professional medical office setting. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, supervise non-licensed staff as needed, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Nursing licensure required in US state.
• BLS/ACLS certification current.
• BSN preferred credential is listed in the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care before, during, and after procedures following nursing process.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and non-licensed staff as needed.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient care.
• Assist with procedures per physician orders and PA Board guidelines.
• Monitor vital signs and patient responses; intervene as needed.
• Administer medications per orders following safety protocols.
• Ensure cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization per guidelines.
• Collaborate with staff and management on nursing issues and policies.
• Participate in performance improvement, infection control, and quality programs.

Essential Functions

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after procedures, adhering to established protocols and the nursing process.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and non-licensed staff members as necessary.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care.
• Assist with procedures as required, following physician orders and maintaining compliance with PA State Board of Nursing guidelines.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, response to treatment, and overall condition, intervening as needed.
• Administer medications per physician orders, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with staff, physicians, and management to address nursing issues and interpret facility policies effectively.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, infection control, emergency preparedness, safety, and quality assurance programs.
• Uphold professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients and staff.

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
