American Red Cross in Wichita, KS is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in therapeutic apheresis to join our team and support lifesaving missions.

You will perform apheresis procedures, venipuncture, central access, and coordinate care with physicians and nurses while maintaining patient safety and high-quality standards. A strong communicator is essential, with CPR and RN licensure in good standing.

Competenze

• Current state RN licensure and CPR certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and work experience.
• Two years of medical/surgical or critical care nursing experience.
• Apheresis or dialysis experience beneficial but not required.
• Good vein selection and venipuncture skills are essential.
• Strong verbal communication with patients, families and physicians.
• Customer service experience and public relations skills preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Mansioni

• Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in multiple settings, including critical care, emergency room, and freestanding outpatient centers.
• Perform venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and access vortex and bard ports.
• Perform all phases of therapeutic apheresis procedures to ensure safe and appropriate care and explain procedures as needed.
• Act as a consultant to external health care personnel about clinical apheresis.
• Assess patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis during procedures using nursing process and labs.
• Coordinate with physicians and nurses at hospitals to arrange treatments and facilitate care.
• Evaluate patient medications for compatibility and safety of apheresis and contact physician when needed.
• Assemble, restock, QC, and maintain supplies and equipment to keep a safe work environment.
