Job summary

Novant Health Southwestern Spine Institute is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Mount Pleasant, SC. Location is 1625 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.

Schedule is Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-4:30pm with no weekends or major holidays and no on-call requirements. The role involves perioperative patient care, advocating for patients during procedures, maintaining aseptic technique, and ensuring accurate surgical counts.

Qualifications

• 2 Year / Associate Degree, required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
• One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience, preferred.
• RN License in appropriate state, required.
• ACLS and PALS, preferred.
• Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit.
• Knowledge to modify care according to patient’s age.
• Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in the perioperative environment, ensuring safety standards and facility protocols.
• Serve as the primary patient advocate during surgical procedures, monitoring patient status and maintaining optimal OR conditions.
• Maintain a meticulous sterile field and apply strict aseptic techniques during all surgical interventions to minimize infection risks.
• Perform thorough and accurate surgical counts (sponges, sharps, and instruments) with the surgical team.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience: One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: RN License in Appropriate State, required. ACLS and PALS, preferred.
• Additional Skills (required): Must have a thorough understanding of role of RN and the ability to carry out the functions as stated in the appropriate relevant state nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to age specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
