Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to promote compliance within ambulatory departments and support patient care quality. The role emphasizes educating clinic staff, coordinating with leadership, and ensuring safety standards across care areas.

Required RN licensure in state of practice, an Associate's degree in nursing, and at least 2 years of experience. BLS is also required.

  • Identifies areas for quality improvement initiatives and recommends actions.
  • Provides input for annual performance evaluations and improvement plans.
  • Monitors interior facilities for cleanliness and OSHA and infection control compliance.
  • Promotes front-line accountability across the department among all staff.
  • Adapts communication and care approaches to diverse patient populations while respecting privacy.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Educates clinic staff on regulatory standards and develops clinic and staff. Education

Required -Associate's degree in nursing.

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).

Work Experience

Required - 2 years of experience

Certifications

Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/4, weekend, holiday, on call availability) and travel throughout and between facilities.
Job Duties
  • Collaborates with operational and clinical leaders to ensure safe patient care by using evidence-based best practices.
  • Assists with staff orientation programs, assessing appropriate competencies and credentialing for new hires specific to individuals’ scope of practice and staff on-boarding.
  • Helps promote unit compliance with the organization's clinical policies and procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Assists in planning and identifying areas for quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides input as necessary for annual performance evaluations and performance improvement plans.
  • Assists in monitoring of interior physical plant to ensure cleanliness and fulfillment of OSHA mandates and infection control by collaborating with infection control department.
  • Works with operational leadership to help promote front-line accountability across the department for all employees.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
