Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking an RN Advisor (Triage RN) to join the Malignant Hematology Clinic. The role uses nursing processes to plan and manage cancer patient care over the phone, adhering to clinic policies and guidelines.

The ideal candidate has oncology and malignant hematology RN experience, an active Florida license, and BLS; OCN/ACON certification is preferred. This is a hybrid/part-time in-office role with a full-time scheduling option depending on unit needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from ACEN/CCNE-accredited school with at least one year of relevant oncology/hematology experience.
• Alternatively, ASN with 1 year experience in oncology/hematology.
• Florida RN license and BLS certification required.
• OCN or ACON certification preferred.
• Call center experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls using Moffitt Promise Guidelines (AIDET), the quality caring factors, and the nursing process to assess the patients issue, plan and properly evaluate the care.
• Complete, accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Exercise clinical judgment and decision making; recognize emergencies and take appropriate action.
• Identify, document and provide accurate and appropriate patient education.
• Participate in evidence-based improvement activities related to area of practice.

With a team of nearly two dozen malignant hematology experts – all of whom are foremost experts in specialties such as medical oncology or pathology – we have unparalleled expertise in the management of conditions like lymphoma, leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), as well as multiple myeloma, myeloproliferative syndromes, aplastic anemia and many other related hematological malignancies.The Malignant Hematology Clinic cares for 150 patients daily who are seeking treatment for a confirmed diagnosis, or with suspected hematologic conditions.
