Job summary

Bozeman Health is seeking an RN – Adult & Pediatric Infusion to deliver safe, evidence-based outpatient infusion care for adults and children. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer therapies, manage vascular access, monitor responses, and educate patients and families within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires Montana RN licensure, BLS, PEARS or equivalent within six months, chemotherapy/biotherapy training, and IV/central line experience.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse – Adult & Pediatric Infusion delivers safe, high-quality, evidence-based infusion care to adult and pediatric patients in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, administering infusion therapies, managing vascular access devices, monitoring patient responses, and providing patient and family education. The Registered Nurse (RN) identifies and manages symptoms and adverse reactions, coordinates care across the continuum, and collaborates within a multidisciplinary team to support safe, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

• Current Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse).
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current AHA Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS), or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Course within six (6) months of hire or prior to independent chemotherapy administration.
• Demonstrated competency or training in IV therapy, central line management, and medication administration.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) certification.
• One (1) year of Registered Nurse (RN) experience in oncology, outpatient infusion, emergency, or critical care.
• Experience with pediatric infusion or oncology.

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

• Performs comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments of adult and pediatric patients receiving infusion therapies and develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care based on clinical assessment, provider orders, and evidence-based practice.
• Safely administers infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, hydration, and supportive treatments in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
• Manages vascular access devices, including peripheral IVs, implanted ports, PICCs, and other central venous access devices.
• Monitors patients throughout treatment, identifies and responds to adverse reactions or changes in clinical condition, and initiates appropriate interventions when indicated.
• Provides patient- and family-centered education using developmentally appropriate approaches across the lifespan, including pediatric-specific safety practices such as weight-based dosing verification and age-specific assessment.
• Collaborates with providers, pharmacy, laboratory, and interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery across the treatment continuum.
• Adheres to evidence-based infusion standards, infection prevention practices, and hazardous drug handling requirements, including the safe administration of chemotherapy and other high-risk medications in accordance with organizational, state, and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives, ongoing professional development, competency validation, and peer support activities, including onboarding and mentoring as applicable.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Requirements

• This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
