Job summary

Park Royal Behavioral Health Services is seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian to promote health and recovery within our behavioral health setting. The role emphasizes nutrition assessment, diet planning, patient counseling, and collaboration with the treatment team.

You will oversee menus, advise on dietary plans, and support patients with eating disorders and substance use considerations. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered, along with comprehensive health benefits and a strong professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or similar field acceptable for licensure.
• Experience with Eating Disorders and Substance use strongly preferred in facilities working with those patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and health plans to develop dietary-care plans and provide counseling.
• Approve patient menus and nutritional supplements.
• Advise patients and families on nutrition, dietary plans and food choices.
• Provide nutritional assessments per facility policy and regulation.
• Review and approve facility menus annually with medical staff.
• Counsel individuals and groups on good nutrition and healthy eating habits.
• Consult with physicians to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
• Participate in treatment team as appropriate.
• Promote better health by speaking to groups about diet and nutrition.
• Monitor food service operations for conformance to standards.

About Park Royal Hospital

Park Royal Hospital is a state of the art facility outfitted with cutting edge technology and safety features. Our private free-standing 126-bed psychiatric hospital provides life-changing care for adults 18 years and older and senior adults. Inpatient and outpatient treatment is provided for depression, anxiety, mood disorders, memory problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other mental illnesses as well as co-occurring substance use disorders.

Purpose Statement

The Dietitian is responsible for serving as the expert in the use of food and nutirition to promote health and manage disease.

Essential Functions

• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
• Approve patient menus and nutritional supplements.
• Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications and food selection and preparation.
• Provide nutritional assessments per facility policy and regulation.
• Review and approve menus developed by the facility.
• Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
• Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient.
• Participate in treatment team as appropriate.
• Review and approve facility diet manual annually in conjunction with medical staff.
• Promote better health by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases.
• Monitor food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards as needed.

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in Dietetics, Nutrition or similar field acceptable for licensure.
• Experience with Eating Disorders and Substance use strongly preferred in facilities working with those patient populations.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• Current registered dietician or registration as required by state or eligible for endorsement by the state in which the facility provides services.
• ServSafe certification or similar food safety certification where required by the state or facility.
