Summary

Rust Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse to work in the Acute Step-down (Progressive Care) Unit. The role accommodates both new graduates and experienced RNs, with a residency program for graduates and a diverse patient population that includes chronic disease, post‑operative orthopedic, cardiac and other complex cases.

Location & Compensation

Location: 2400 Unser Blvd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124

Pay Range: $37.80–$51.00 per hour (minimum to maximum) – full‑time FTE 0.90.

Responsibilities
  • Provide continuous monitoring and complex 24‑hour care for adult patients in a step‑down progressive care setting.
  • Use specialized equipment and EPIC electronic charting system to deliver timely interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients and families about their conditions and care plans.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse license – valid in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State Nursing License.
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor preferred).
  • BLS certification required at time of hire.
