Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, GA seeks experienced nurse residency preceptors for the Nurse Residency Unit. You will support onboarding of three cohorts of new graduate nurses yearly, guiding them through orientation and transition to practice.

This full-time day shift role includes a sign-on bonus and collaboration with the Nurse Residency Coordinator to maintain a high standard of patient care and professional growth.

Formación

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current RN license in Georgia and BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Advanced certification in specialty area aspirational.

Responsabilidades

• Provide nursing care for patients across the lifecycle using nursing processes.
• Coordinate patient care activities with assigned staff on the NRU.
• Mentor and support nurse residents during orientation and transition to practice.

Nurse Residency Unit (Teaching Unit) Preceptors needed

Full time Days 7am-7pm

Seeking experienced preceptors that like to teach, supporting the 20-bed Nurse Residency Unit which serves 7 med/surg units by onboarding three cohorts of new graduate nurses each year. New graduate nurses complete the first part of their orientation on this dedicated unit with experienced preceptors, which provides new nurses with a solid clinical foundation prior to moving to their assigned home unit. The Nurse Residency Unit creates a safe learning environment to assist in developing competent, highly skilled nurses. Our dedicated preceptors, leadership team and Nurse Residency Coordinator provide unparalleled support to nurse residents during orientation and transition to practice.

In the state-of-the-art new Main Tower, the NRU nurse provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The NRU nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

*Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios*

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Graduate of a nursing program

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS certification required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• For PRN positions: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
• Bachelor?s degree preferred
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
